Limited edition fine art print from the collaborative works of Disney & Salvador Dali. For eight months 1945 to 1946 the Disney Studio artist John Hench and artist Salvador Dali storyboarded the animated surrealist short film Destino before ceasing production due to financial difficulties during the World War II era.
In 1999 Walt Disney's nephew Roy E. Disney would rediscover the project while working on Fantasia and become set on bringing it back from dormancy. With Walt Disney Studios Paris the short was produced by Baker Bloodworth and directed by French animator Dominique Monféry.
After 25 animators set to work deciphering Dali and Hench's storyboards they successfully finished the Destino production.
The 7-minute film includes mostly traditional animation and Hench’s original footage.
The film premiered on June 2nd 2003 and was nominated for the Academy Award for best animated short film that year.
In 2004 this fine art print was produced.
