Career timeline
- 1968–1972: Early work with light objects. While studying sculpture at the Bremen University of Artistic Design, Kuhn created kinetic light objects.
- 1976: Expanded into graphic arts. After winning a contest held by the Bremen College of Nautical Science, Kuhn began producing his first etchings.
- 1986–2023: Became known for "Art in Boxes." From this period until his death, Kuhn focused on creating his signature 3D mixed-media wall pieces, which feature small figures in miniature, humorous scenes.
